We used Simon Annear plumbing & heating to replace an older oil boiler with an air source heat pump.
We cannot fault the workmanship or communication received throughout.
Jamie (the plumber) was efficient, tidy, communicative and had no problem answering any silly questions we had.
The electrician was also very helpful and tidy and efficient.
I would not hesitate to recommend this company.

I deliberately waited over a month before writing this review because I wanted to properly "road test" the system first.
I was looking to install solar panels, an air source heat pump, and complete several related electrical and heating upgrades. Before obtaining quotes, I created a detailed project specification covering the equipment, installation requirements, and associated works.
I approached five companies in total. Some failed to respond, some only quoted for part of the work, and one was significantly more expensive. Simon Annears stood out immediately. They responded promptly, carried out a thorough site visit with both a technical director and electrical specialist, and provided a detailed proposal covering everything I needed.
The quote was competitive, communication was excellent throughout, and every timeline was met exactly as promised. Once work started, they had multiple team members on site covering roofing, electrical and plumbing work simultaneously, which kept the project moving efficiently.
Everyone I dealt with was polite, professional, knowledgeable and clearly took pride in their work. The installation quality appears excellent, with neat cabling, tidy pipework and great attention to detail. I even requested an additional radiator swap during the installation, which was completed the very next day at a reasonable cost.
The solar system is performing extremely well, the hot water has never been better, and all of the additional work, including the induction hob installation and gas fire removal, was completed to a high standard.
Would I recommend Annears? Absolutely. I paid for this work with my own money and genuinely feel I received excellent value. If my experience is anything to go by, this is an outstanding company.

I want to offer a personal note of thanks to Lisa, Steven, Lewis and the team for prioritising my elderly mum this winter. Her 21-year old air source heat pump packed up without warning during a cold snap so she needed a completely new unit. We were of course worried about the temperature in her house (especially at night), but she stayed with family over the weekend and Simon Annear managed to get the replacement unit shipped and installed within 3 days. Amazing service!

We had Lewis pop around to give us a quote last year,
We was happy with price,
The insolation went well, local staff very helpful and tidy,
The battery's have made a great difference,
We charge them up between 2am and 4am during the cheapest rate with octopus energy
Use the battery until the sun out that last until 2 am,
On average using 3.5kw a day

Very professional company who provided good advice and installed our heat pump. We needed to check some of the finishing and request someone to return to complete the pipe insulation outside, and this was done. The after-service care directly afterwards was (and continues to be) helpful, including replacing one device that didn't quite work with our house - following a couple of weeks testing. All running nicely now, and happy with our cosy home. Thanks to all the team.

The company have been extremely professional from initiation to commission. Of the Valliant 10kw HSP system. Furthermore and most importantly after a couple of inevitable teething problems, their after care support is second to none, they have come out same day and within a few hours of a phone call. I am extremely satisfied with the product and services.

We recently had an air source heat pump system and a Tesla battery installed by Simon Annear Renewables. The team was knowledgeable, efficient, well organised, and tidy ; a pleasure to work with.
Simon Annear fitted solar pv panels for us in 2011, we worked with them on a new build house in 2012, installing a complete plumbing and air source heat pump system, which they service annually.
I have no hesitation in thoroughly recommending them.

I contacted Simon Annears for a quote to install a solar and battery storage system at my home. From the first call to completion the service was excellent and nothing was too much bother. I experienced great communication during and after completion of the works and still get a response to any questions now. My system has now been installed for coming on 12months and has been working great. ££££ in my pocket and not the big energy companies.
Also a big shout out to Dan who was at my property during all of the installation, Dan’s the man when you want straight forward answers. He explained everything in simple terms and was also a good laugh. Thanks to all involved.

Excellent green tech installers, very knowledgeable about kit options and did a very tidy job in an occupied house. Aftercare has been great too setting up the controls and a couple of teething issues. Highly recommend.

Just had my Worcester gas boiler replaced with a new equivalent. I am very pleased with the knowledge and workmanship of Steven the technical guy and Rich the installation engineer. The installation is neat and tidy and all mess and old equipment was removed promptly. I would recommend this company.

Installed a new air source heat pump from Vaillant replacing an old oil boiler in my cottage with a newly built extension. Runs very smoothly and easy to program with the remote. Updated a couple of the radiators at the same time. Cottage is nice and warm now and we never run out of hot water. Friendly service and competitive price for install.

I am very pleased with my heat pump and I appreciated the knowledge of Simon Annear’s sales team and installers. Other fitters tried to get us to replace all our central heating pipes/radiators when we actually only needed one radiator replaced (we were expecting this). The house feels cosy and is costing very little to heat compared to our old LPG system. The Vaillant app is great for tracking usage and it is running really efficiently.

Very friendly staff. Had underfloor heating installed last year during renovating, they done a fab job. Had issues with my underfloor heating over the weekend, called on Monday morning and they came out the same day and got it all working again. So grateful for their help during this cold snap.

We didn't understand a great deal about Air Source Heat Pumps but as we had solar panels already and truly needed to replace our Oil Boiler that was nearly 40 years old, it seemed the direction to go while the GUS Grant was available to us.
We had 4 different quotes and definitely learnt a lot from each visit and what they suggested our 1950's Semi Detach required [our ECP Certificate gave us a 'C 87' rating].
Dan Smith visited us for our quote, his response was quick full of information and reassurances, gave us a probable date of September or October and answered our list of questions readily and clearly. That was followed with a stream of clarification questions which were answered very swiftly and clearly and reassured me; as Dan said 'there was no question too silly'.
Clear quotes/invoices were forwarded swiftly along with starting date and details - we had 10 days notice and fitted in with our plans brilliantly. Dan sent us the Ofgem digital application form and in four days our application was approved.
The plumbing was done by RIch who worked solidly from 8 am till his days end. The Deliveries of ASHP and Canisters and piping etc., all arrived to our home and the team arrived to carry the heat pump through our home to its location. It’s truly heavy piece of kit!
As all progressed we became more impressed!
The electrician Mat, arrived and quickly sourced all routes of removal and replacement of electrical needs and fitted the internet gateway. All worked continually and methodically with great respect to our home and full discussion on placement of switches or dials was very appreciated along with their suggestions. Needless to say our home offered its own challenges and they met this with solutions always for us to be happy.
We just wish we had done this two years ago but felt daunted by its technology and changes it presented for us.
A great suggestion that we agreed to be added was the iBoost to work with our solar panels and reduce our electric bills further and you can push a display button and show how much solar power is helping our hot water tank.
We are miffed that September is prooving a warmer month for us not to have needed our heating as yet.
We even like our Vaillant Phone App which gives us so much information on the warmth of our home, planned heat timings, all sorts of life style options you can choose from.
The finished deal looks really impressive in our home and we managed to accomodate it well thanks to Dan's first visit to survey where it was to go.
The tidyness of everyone was greatly appreciated and the Air Source Heat Pump and it looks wonderful in its location.
Thank you to all involved from Simon Annear Plumbing & Heating Ltd., we are grateful to you all for your help and efficiency and pleasant encounters throughout; and all the challenges you endured getting it in our home.

Last year Simon's company upgraded our battery system to an AI-managed "Sigenstor" capable of providing 24kWh of storage. The system has been fabulous with the AI ensuring that when our solar panels were not up to it and we needed to draw energy from the grid into the batteries, it did so at the half-price rate, 95% of the time. We've now just had a further 16kWh of storage added which, with electricity as our sole energy utility, will hopefully get our old barn and cottage through a family and friends-filled winter at the lowest cost. Plus the "Gateway" unit ensures that should there be a power outage, then as long as we've got energy stored, our power will stay on. As ever, the work was done in an efficient, friendly and tidy manner and at a very competitive price. Thank you guys!

Ours was a retrofit of a 12kw Vaillant Air-source recovery pump system in
replacement of an oil-fired boiler serving an existing wet system in an
enlarged 3-bedroom traditional cottage.
We have to say that from the outset the advice and guidance received from
Simon Annear staff was excellent, and was delivered over several visits,
always at our request.
The installation itself took place in late 2021 just as The Omicron phase of the pandemic became evident, and despite consequent staffing and supply-chain challenges Simon Annear staff completed the main elements of dismantling the old and installation of the new systems within 3 days. A couple of ‘fine-tuning’ visits from engineers over following days saw the system running as promised.
Having arranged a service contract with Simon Annear following the end of the warranty period we can also report that servicing visits, and the single system adjustment visit required over the past two years were carried out promptly and with the same lack of inconvenience to us as had been the installation.
Without reservation we would recommend Simon Annear to anyone considering a similar conversion.

Simon Annear installed an air source heat pump in my house last year. The team were so professional. The quote was detailed and site specific, with each room individually assessed and only two radiators needing to be replaced. Other companies just assumed all needed replacing which had a huge impact on the quote. The system was installed within a few days and all on the team worked tidily and efficiently. My heating system is working brilliantly - we have a cosy home and it's easy to manage. Can fully recommend Simon Annear.

Simon Annear ltd came to replace my existing heat pump, circa 14 years old with a new system. The initial quote was very competitive and with the system they use there is a 7 year warranty and an annual service as per their monthly plan (£15 for piece of mind and knowing they will call out if anything goes wrong is good compared to our previous heat pump company)
The process of installing the new system and taking away the old one was smooth. The installation only took a few days. The new system Appears much more efficient, much quieter and looks much neater in our garden. There is only one inside tank compared to 2 on our old system.
Overall I am very pleased with the Vaillant heat pump 9 months down the line.
